Just moved to the area and looking for any competitive play. I played a lot in Dallas and am a good all around player. After a shoulder injury I learned to hit with my left hand, so now can hit left or right. I have a great bump set, but am improving on my finger sets. I give my best effort always and am a real team player.

Hi Volleyball Player!
I’ve come up with, what I believe is, something that many beach volleyball players in the mid west will be interested in. As you are most likely already aware, we play beach volleyball year round in Southern California. You don’t have to wait till May/June to play here.
Following is my idea: I will provide room and board for 2 people at a time, for a one week stay at my apartment in sunny Southern California. My apartment is located 2 blocks from the beach (in Long Beach).
My apartment is 15 minutes from Huntington Beach (AVP scheduled for 7/31/99 to 8/1/99), 20 minutes from Hermosa Beach (AVP scheduled for 6/12 & 13/99), and 30 minutes from Manhattan Beach (AVP scheduled for 8/28 & 29/99). The following will be provided to guests:
1) Sleeping accommodations for guests will be on air mattresses (I provide linens, including towels).
2) Guests picked up and returned to one of the following airports: Los Angeles, Orange County (John Wayne Airport), or Long Beach.
3) Transportation throughout your stay.
4) Breakfast and dinner provided throughout your stay.
5) Use of Wilson Gold AVP volleyballs, Jose Cuervo net system, and lines
A typical day of volleyball will consist of (suggested schedule is flexible and will be tailored to meet individuals specific needs):
1) 9:00 am: wake up
2) 9:15 am: eat breakfast
3) 9:30 am: shower (optional)
4) 10:00 am: Drive to Huntington Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, or Long Beach to begin the day of volleyball in sunny Southern California.
5) 4:00 pm: return to my apartment
6) 6:00 pm: dinner
7) 7:00 pm: shower (optional?)
8) 9:00 pm: bar hopping (optional)
If guests want to do a variety of activities, along with the volleyball, I will function as your tour guide. There are numerous sites to visit in Southern California, such as Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm, Hollywood, Universal Studios, Getty Museum, and Venice Beach, just to name a few. Tia Juana, Mexico and Las Vegas are 2 hours away. I will provide transportation to these locations, for a one day trip, for an additional $50.

I have played for the past 3 years at Coconut Beach (sand league) in New Orleans. I will be moving to Austin in September. I am a good all around player. I'll play any position just to play. I'm on a team with an unusual problem. We knew this would happen, but now, we are in two leagues that will soon overlap and will need to forfeit the remaining games UNLESS, we can find a team to take our place and finish the league. The fee has been paid. All the team will need to do is play the remaining four games and ref when scheduled. It is a co-ed league at Parque Zaragosa Recreation Center. Our team is "B" level, but the level of play at PZRC is "C" level. Our team has won all games so far. Most likely, a league championship is a possibility. If anyone is interested, please email me as soon as possible as our new league at NWRC starts September 27, 1999. We will be able to play at both gyms on the 27th, but are unsure about the Mondays later. Oh yeah, the games are on Mondays, at 6:30, 7:30 or 8:30pm.

I come from North Carolina and then most recently Chicago. I have played indoor, grass, and sand -- two's, three's, four's, and sixes. I prefer two's outdoor, or competitive coed. On Men's A teams (6), I have been a setter since I am only 5'10" but have pretty good vertical, soft hands, and a decent dig. In most other/mixed leagues I hit. I'm looking for some people that would like to play some good coed. I've got a few good friends and we can get places to play every once in a while, but it never seems we can get the level of competition we're looking for. We'd like to find others who are looking to run offenses and defenses alike. Personally, I'm a 6'0" outside hitter and defensive specialist. My vertical is about 25"-29" depending on how warm I am. I'm doing some plyometrics to increase that though. :)

I've got a friend and she's a great setter. We could use some teams to play against or information on tournaments/leagues in the area. We're both relatively new to the scene, but have been playing volleyball for 15 years (about half our lives ;-)

Drop me a line and let's see if we can't get something together. We'll have time/space during the holidays. If you've got any info about coed played anywhere...send that along too. Even if you're not interested in playing with us. We're just looking to get involved somehow and keeping our competitive edge.

Hi guys--
I'm looking to find some good volleyball to get to play on a consistant basis. Played years of juniors and on a nationally ranked HS team, and am now a year or so into college and would like to start playing often again after some time off for some other sport conquests.
Am 5'5", but with a good vertical, and strong defensive skills. Willing to play anywhere/anytime sand/indoor coed/women's, whatever can work. I'm an extremely competitive person and like to play hard.
Would be very interested in getting with a team to do tourneys, but as you can tell...just looking for a game! Will do open gym pick up games if someone can tell me where to go.

I'm 5'16" with a pretty decent vertical leap (i've seen higher). I'm an ambidextrous hitter, primarily right handed, but also good with the left allowing a switch-up in the air. I can set, but not as well as a good setter, am fast in the back court, too, picking up balls with my orangatang arms.

I play very competitively, yet have a good demeanor, know the rules, and LOVE to play. I think fast on my feet and am a team player.

I currently play grass two days a week, and a coed indoor league one day a week. I'm looking for more competitive play.

I just moved back to Austin(my home town)and looking to play some challenging vollyball!!
